I will :
-Oversee and coordinate internal activities and overall operations.
-Conduct meetings and set agenda and schedule meetings.
-Coordinate and facilitate implementation of ideas, visions and targets.
-Facilitate internal communications and documentation.
-Ensure overall welfare of all members.
Hi I'm Rachele Dal Cin from Italy, and I'm the co-chair of DROP. I help Maida with her activities, as well as being the stand-in if she were to fall sick!
Hi I'm Katharina Baardseth from Norway, and I'm the secretary of DROP! I write minutes during the meetings and make sure that everyone receives them afterwards!
Hi, I am Alex Silva from Ecuador and the responsible of DROP Products Committee. The Products Committee takes care about sources and acquire products. This means that we also distribute and sell them. The DROP products are oriented to office products such as notebooks, pens, but also in other areas, as mugs and thermos. We are authorized to use the UWC RCN logo, which looks really nice on the items.
Hi I'm Patricia Wandia from Kenya, and I'm responsible for the souvenirs committee. The souvenirs committee is one that focuses on raising money through sales of items from all over the world. The Committee is responsible for;
-Collecting souvenirs within the school.
-Putting together a collection of souvenirs from around the world.
-Establishing a market within and without the school area.
-Promoting cultural sharing and interaction within the UWC community.
-Showcasing diversity and difference.
The souvenirs range from small items such as key holders, jewelry and UWC bracelets to large items such as bags and clothing. The souvenirs committee focuses on selling them at affordable prices in order to reach a wider range of people while promoting the virtue of giving as well as keeping up with the demands of the people. Due to the growth registered in the committee as a result of teamwork and cooperation,it has expanded and has been able to develop greatly in terms of variety.The committee continues to strive and poses great potential of success in the future.
Media and communication:
Hi, I'm Philip Sumner from China, and I'm the treasurer and I'm in charge of the Media and Communications. As treasurer I manage accounts and record all financial transactions for DROP, as well as being in charge of the bank account for DROP! As Communications and Media Director, I source for, initiate cooperation and liaise with external organisations (e.g. grant-giving organisations and corporate sponsors, etc.), I maintain external communications (e.g. with alumni, donors, beneficiaries etc.), and I'm in charge of maintaining all publicity platforms (Facebook page, website, newsletter).
Youth Awareness for AIDS:
Hi I'm Nitya Canakiah from Botswana and I'm in charge of YAA. YAA (Youth for Aids Awareness) is a subcommittee in DROP who's mission is to empower children affected by Aids and use the youth as a mouthpiece to raise awareness on the topic and bring down the walls of social misconception and stigma associated with HIV/AIDS.
